Third Time’s a Charm!

I had my one week post on Monday and we couldn’t be happier! I got rid of one drain, and just have one to go. Everything is healing nicely, the new blood supply up front is doing its job, and I have virtually no bruising at all – I promise you, this woman is a wizard with her magic scalpel. I again, have had hardly any pain and have been able to ditch the pain meds within just a few days of being home. The biggest bonus of this whole deal was that she was able to clean out a ton of scar tissue (from radiation) when she did this surgery – I think the exact words were “her skin was like cement!” Even in recovery I could already tell that I had gained range of motion I didn’t have before. I can’t wait until I’m cleared to start stretching and see how far I can reach now! The hard part now, is going to be for me to behave and keep relatively still until that time.

COZY CLOSET UPDATE! I am so excited that my local cancer center has partnered with me to stock the Cozy Closet! They are going to have a pajama day at the Georgia Cancer Center for their AU Days of Service and help me get more items for our amazing patients. I’ll post more details later (when I have them), but in the meantime if you want to contribute to the Cozy Closet account, please do! I have my last round of “baby vaccines” at the end of this month and then I will be cleared to begin my training for the liaison for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and can start visiting patients! I couldn’t be more excited! Please be in prayer for this and especially the time management side of this for me – I want it to be a good balance for me serving others, but keeping my family first as well.

Well, back to preschool for me – the G-man and I are having the time the time of our lives now that the Big Three are in school – daily dance parties are a must! I plan to start highlighting some products and ideas for supporting your friends and family members going through cancer – ways you can make them feel special and help their healing. Until then…..
