Three treatments left!
My guys come tomorrow!
I am so ready for it to be louder and maybe slightly stinkier around here 😉 It is hard to believe I am almost done, wasn’t it just yesterday I was complaining of the halfway slump? In some ways it seems like it has gone by so fast, and in other ways feels like I have lived in Knoxville for way longer than six weeks. I have made so many new friends, learned my way around without a GPS, settled in….I feel like I have a second home and a second family up here. I came up here not knowing a soul and now I have a church home here and so many new friends it will be hard to decide who to see when I come back for checkups! God has provided so generously for us up here – so many stories to tell…. I am getting used to, but still am blown away by the generosity of strangers. It has happened so many times it is like I now just smile and almost snicker as if to say “well, Lord, there you go again!” I say it’s humbling but even that doesn’t describe it well enough. Since I’ve been up here I have been given so many gas and grocery cards I haven’t had to spend any money on that. I have also had more than one of my “new family” members make substantial donations to our medical bills. One happened this morning – it was not just a blessing to me but to the staff at the Proton center. One of the ladies who works there was tearing up with us because she said it had been a rough week and this morning she prayed for God to show her some good, and then this new friend of mine walked in with a check to help us out. God is so good, I am honored to be in the middle of this whole thing where He is showing Himself in such a big way.
So what’s next you ask? Well, I have a big birthday on the 15th 🙂 I go back to the oncologist in Augusta on the 16th – if memory serves me correctly they will schedule a scan of some sort (I’ll let you guys know when I find out). And really I will still be living at the doctors for a while – they all like me so much they all want to see me every couple of months or so. I still have surgeries ahead and lots of monitoring. Scans make me crazy, so when you feel like praying for me, and that they are clear, please pray for my nerves and anxiety – I know this is going to be a struggle for me.
I plan to keep writing. I have prayed for the Lord to show me how He wants to use me through this experience. I don’t want my cancer to be “wasted” by me just getting through it. For now it seems to be that my fingers on a keyboard is it. I want you all to see the many ways God is working in, through, and around me to make His glory known. So, I will try my best to keep doing that (in between diapers, school, sports, food……) Until next time….

So thankful things are as good as they are with you and your family! Praying that God continues to show out in a big way! Love to all!
