20 weeks of dates!!!

February 2, 2018 · from Lesley’s original CaringBridge journal

I honestly don’t know how people do this alone. I am so thankful for Marsh – he has taken me to every appointment and will continue to do so until the end, no questions asked. He is truly the best. This whole deal is crappy but we have really enjoyed all the time alone together we have been having. The chemo plan is as follows: Starting next Friday (Feb 9) I will have 8 weeks of Adriamycin and Cytoxan every other week and bloodwork on all the in between weeks followed by 12 weeks of Taxol. When Dr. Wells told me that I thought, “wow”! But hey, we might as well make the best of it, right? Everyone has said that the day of isn’t as bad, and they pump you with steroids that day too. SO we have decided to find all the good restaurants we can to go eat dinner after treatments. We will have 20 straight weeks of date nights! (not the Tina Fey/Steve Carrell kind though). If you have recommendations, send them on!

Love you and your precious family. Please let me know if I can ever help watch the kids while you go on your “date nights” or if you just need some alone time resting. You know I love your boys and I do not mind watching. We can have a play date in my lab (I’ll even have safety glasses for the baby). Seriously though, you are surrounded by people that love you…let us help as needed. You are NOT fighting alone!
