Thursday (Feb 1) I had my pre-op appointment with my surgeon for the port placement. When we sat down in her office she came in with a smile on her face and started telling me that Mayo had called her and my oncologist and they had already talked. She asked her radiologist to read the scan again and give his opinion. He did and said he saw what they were talking about but was not alarmed – however let’s ultrasound it just to put it to rest. She scheduled it for that afternoon (but I couldn’t eat or drink for the rest of the day). We discussed the port (freaks me out a bit) and I went over for all my bloodwork and such. We spent the day back and forth between offices and appointments and finally had the ultrasound that afternoon. They said she would have the results within the hour. We headed home and right as we sat down to supper I got a message from her that the scan was clear – PRAISE THE LORD AGAIN! and we are going ahead as planned.
Today (Feb 2) we had to go back to Augusta for more pre-chemo testing and met with the oncologist to hear his take on the Mayo stuff. He walked in and said “wow, they stressed me out when they called me and all I could think was ‘poor Lesley!'” He again reassured us, didn’t see any need for all the extra scans and is confident we have a good plan. We agreed. I told him I am losing a few pounds every time a new test is ordered and I am waiting on results [I am back in my old jeans but this is NOT how I wanted it to happen!]. He said we were getting me off that weight loss plan.
So one week later I think I am back to how I felt last week. Not looking forward to this one bit but we are at peace with where the Lord has us and the treatment plan.

Praise the Lord again is right! All I could think was the same as your doctor- poor Lesley! Unbelievable. I’m praying for healing for you and for strength for you all. So good to “hear” your voice through this. Thank you for the updates. Love you!
